Teenagers are usually required to wear white shirts on a daily basis, as a part of a school protocol or just as a sign of respect when studying. We also love to wear white because it is easy to match with everything and you can also decorate a classic T-shirt so that it would represent you. This spring brings a new way to perceive white: as an whimsical canvas which is crafted with all sorts of techniques, from lacework to crochet, even broderie.

What does this means? That it is time to invest into something that not only will make us look like modern and classy , but will also give a completely different twist to the white shirt we are so used to wear. It is all about the detailing and the ability of the brands to use light materials and unique patterns.

How do you wear this trend?
1. Layering– as the fabrics will allow you, mixing sheer with lace or other gauzy textures will be a fun thing to do and will challenge your creativity. Plus, the whole see-through ensemble will astonish by its complexity.

2. Don’t over-accessorize! If you choose to wear a white look, you shouldn’t distract the attention from all the incredible details with colored bangles or too many necklaces worn together. Go for a statement necklace and discreet watch instead.

3. To school – If you feel your beloved new shirt is not so school-appropriate wear a white tank top underneath. I have this lovely broderie blouse I bought last summer and which catches everyone’s eye when I wear it at school. I consider it a great investment, as I can wear it on various occasions.

You may also have many white clothes already as they are essentials, so it would be a good time for you to acquire a special white blazer or a dress. I am certain that the stores will offer us a variety of goods as this season aims to turn the familiar white into a genuine work of art.

For more white art&inspiration I recommend you to see the catwalks of : Alexander Wang, Cacharel, Fendi, Balmain, Victoria Beckham, Tibi.
The high street retailers have not launched their full spring collection yet. I have managed to find some beautiful dresses and tops at Forever21 though, you can see my picks in the collage.
